This is the pride of my Steamer fleet! It originally belonged to a well-known affluent family in Vancouver, BC, Canada (as seen on the side stencil) and was actually being used by the seller (not a member of the Vancouver family) as a wardrobe in their bedroom. It was time for the owner to downsize and so I traded it for $100 worth of labour.
Everything is there, including the drawer lock-bar (with key) and a hat-cushion (both items not shown in the photos), as well as all the wooden hangers and drop-down ironing board; but it is missing the little suitcase that mounts in the lower part under the hangers. The previous owner is still trying to find the main key that she's sure is somewhere. It would be the only trunk or suitcase I have with a key if she finds it.
This thing is HEAVY! And that's when it's empty; I can't even imagine hauling around one of these when full.
That's a very impressive piece of luggage!
Kydur,
I going to say that the hat pin cushion originally went inside of the bottom drawer. Just guessing:). I'm not real familiar with wardrobe trunks. But, I'm sure there are others on CW that would be able to answer your question about the pin cushion location in your wardrobe trunk.
Scott, just to let you know you were right about the placement of the hat cushion, if you didn't see the confirmation also left on the hat cushion item posting.
