    I recently came in possession of this bill. It is a 1934 $500 bill McKinnly on the front. Stamp is K. And says federal bank of Dallas. Just wanting to get some info on it.

      Yes, it is authentic but no longer in circulation - the U.S. Treasury no longer prints bills higher than a $100 denomination for circulation. - Values are based on overall condition and serial number- usually those that are for sale have been professionally graded and placed in a sealed holder to validate authenticity. Do not just take it to a bank, you can get possibly four times or more the face value from a collector.

      These bills were only printed in 1934 with only about 70k of them available to collectors. Price on the note is entirely based on condition but go from several hundred dollars with the top price about 1500 dollars. Most of what I found out most are in very good condition since they were only circulated between banks and large businesses. Good luck and great piece.

      Even the very worn notes of the 500 & 1000 dollars denominations command a healthy premium. These notes actually did circulate and were not limited to banks only. I can remember using them on rare occasions many years ago. The government ordered them to be removed from circulation to hinder drug dealing and money laundering back in the early 70's if my memory is correct.
