Hi there. Thought I would post this piece of furniture that has been in the family for years. I am not sure (??) but it looks home-made. I know my Dad used to do carpentry work and was quite good at it. I do not know IF he made it, but I am thinking he may of. He passed away in 1977, so I can no longer ask him and there is no-one in the family left to ask.
I was going through some old photos and I found an old pic of it as it was back in the 1960's with tassels around the bottom. In the late seventies, I recall my Mom getting it re-upholstery in a crushed velvet. It is still that way today -- and I have it -- and still use it.
Thought I would post this since the old pic helps to date it. That is my brother and cousin in the Pic, so that would be around the year 1957 or so as he was born in 1956.
NEVER know what you may see in the background of those old pictures tucked away....I was glad to find this old photo!

It does look like the swivel was added later perhaps.
