Today's post from Andy is the decor known as PG 7801, in an unusual form...that of a cup and saucer. I have added my own small vase for comparison:
This is a PG 7801 (1899) with several interesting features:
1) As the inside of both the bowl and the plate are covered with Silberiris, the usual bronze appearance of this decor that reminds of an old bottle (my apologies to everyone who owns a 7801) is turned to golden
2) The foot of the bowl is Candia Cisele, which is the third decor on a single piece
3) A flat ground, like that of a plate, best displays the pattern of the decor, much better than, for example, a tall and slender vase
4) I like having different objects in my collection, boxes, pitchers, candleholders, not just vases

Lovely! I have a lampshade with an almost identical form like the saucer. It has a blueish Silberirs om the inside and the decor is on the other side. It is drawn on clear glass.

A very rare shape for Loetz and a wonderfully detailed explanation of the decor. Nice! I bet it would look awesome resting on a mirrored under-plate.
