Hi nutsabotas6. These were donated to the non-profit I work for, I don’t know when they were donated or by whom. They ended up in a bin with about a thousand other Christmas cards that were collected to make craft items from. While preparing a craft project for my clients, I found some vintage looking cards, and set aside about two dozen of them so they wouldn’t get cut up for crafts. They are sitting on my desk at work and I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them.

Typically our donations come from the families of current or past clients, who’ve seen the crafts their loved ones have brought home and have an idea of the things we need. Many of our clients are seniors who are no longer able to live on their own and have moved in with their children or into nursing home type situations and simply don’t have room for these things. Other times it’s from a deceased former client. The most recent donation was from an associate who managed a senior apartment complex. One of her tenants had passed away and the family had come for her things but left behind boxes of Christmas wrap, various craft items, thousands of beads and sequins, etc. I like to think the deceased would be pleased to know we’ve given these things a second life.

By the way, here is an example of the craft we made this Christmas from the less-vintage cards:

the URL does not connect to a craft done at our center, but an online photo of the type of craft we did.
