I have a small box of these Christmas cards that I purchased years ago in Toronto from a Street Art boutique on Queen St. They are marked Dec 25 1971 in the right corner. They are reproduction cards of an original painting issued by The Royal Art Lodge and published by The Museum Of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Every year I give out a few. The stock is running low now. Probably only a few Christmases left to hand these out unfortunately... Some post holiday fun.
Thanks for the kind words CindB:)
Hi Patsea. Thanks for the comments.. No it's not a Christmas tradition. Although I'm sure the cigarette companies wish it was, lol. The Marlboro Reindeer! I can already envision the sign:)... I'm pretty sure it's the artist injecting a lil humor into some Christmas iconic imagery. I love the juxtaposition between the simple artistic style and some witty humor. Clever and funny:):)
No need to apologize. I'm the one who told you to dress up like Mary Poppins for Halloween, oops:) No, the humor is that normally the snowman has a pipe in it's mouth. Actually almost always. So to have a deer pass by and swipe the pipe off the snowman and have a little puff himself is funny... I can see now tho, if you don't see snowmen often, you wouldn't get it. Look up the lyrics to "Frosty the Snowman" and you will read about his pipe:)
Lol, thanks again. I think its pretty funny that you were just listening to Frosty The Snowman. Good times:D
Hahaha. Jus listened to it. Yours is way more funky with a good lil dance beat. Cute:)
Just noticed the deer smoking the pipe...cute! :)
Hey there Jewels. Getting in on the fun, eh. Thanks for the comment:)
Haha yes, I love chat! It has gotten me in trouble a few times :D
Oh ya, I won't ask, lol.
Haha only time I ever got in trouble in school in my life was for talking :)
