This beautiful chrysanthemum pattern plate is made in China , the colours are so nice & bright with the blues/greens egdged in gold on a black background with a white rim ....
the base is marked "ST" made in China .
Does anyone know "ST" ??? , Gothenbergs has it listed as late 1980s early 90s but doesn't state from where ??

It's a lovely plate.
It was quite wrong of me but when I previously went op shopping I would often pick up lovely things, turn them over and when they had Made in China on them I tended to dismiss them. No longer! Some of the so called cheap Chinese imports are more than ordinary, in fact beautifully designed and made.
I might have dismissed a plate like this, but now I am more likely to recognise it's value!

I love this type of porcelain with black (famille noire) backgrounds really makes the floral décor stand out. I'm with Karen . If it's beautifully made it will always show no matter where it's from.
