Here is a Chicago Captain's helmet that has seen some real action. The helmet is probably from the 1970's and does not have the clear face shield as current helmets do. It is made by the Cairns Company of New Jersey which has been making helmets for years. The white leather shield denotes a Captain of truck company 56 which is located on the northwest side of Chicago. This helmet has numerous scorches and drips from some materials that melted. Overall a great piece of Chicago firefighting history.
Hello Jill P. I plan to leave it as it is. If you were to clean up something like this you erase the history.

Your military stuff is fantastic. What history! Like the CFD helmet. Wondering if you are looking for any others.
