More than likely, this is a Captains helmet from NY, NY, Engine 71. The two speaking trumpets on a white shield denote captains rank. The black numbers are for an engine (pumper) company. Truck/Lad...
The visor is used in the Chicago Fire Department for the position of Commander. They do use a white leatherette top, not the vented material, though. Hope that helps.
