I'm trying to restore this tractor, but am having a hard time finding parts. Note that there apparently were some spark plugs and rubber tubing coming from the engine area. There's no identifying marks on the tractor other than "MTD" on the hubcap, which I'm guessing is related to Murray (Murray Tractor Division?). Also, there's an "M" on the front of the grill area that's part of the decal. However, I don't know if it stands for Murray or Midwestern, which is the name in the decal on the side of the tractor. The piece is in relatively decent shape, I just need to locate some parts. Can anybody assist me in identifying the manufacturer and where I may possibly get parts?

This may be a 1950's pedal tractor by Modern Tool and Die Company. - MTD Products is an American manufacturer of outdoor power equipment for the mass market headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. MTD's main competitors are Ariens, Toro, Snapper, Murray, John Deere and Husqvarna. - MTD began to manufacture pedal bikes in 1952 -- In 2012, they actually acquired Murray brand products.

aghcollect, thank you very much for your comment. The MTD makes a lot of sense now. I at least have some direction to head. Thanks again!

Also, when MTD began manufacturing pedal tractors in 1952 they had just taken over the Midwest Industries Company which may account for the name Midwestern on yours. There was a Midwestern advertised on ebay, the picture was still in google images but when I went to the ebay link the pictures had been removed by the seller. The decal graphics showed a chain drive whereas yours clearly shows shaft drive graphics.

aghcollect has it. They were made as some models in some form at least up to 1966. Here is the only reference I have of this tractor dated 1966.

aghcollect and AzTom, you have been most helpful. Thank you very much. Any idea where I might be able to find replacement parts or am I out of luck? Thanks again!

These two have some of the tin tractor parts but not the MTD. You will have to make due with what you have and what you can modify to fit.

Keep us posted on your progress.
