More goodies from Salvation Army. This slinky matching necklace and bracelet are done in Italian silver. The pattern is similar to a herring bone weave. Very flat and articulated. It shimmers with alternating chevrons of silver and coppery gold in it's pattern. There are marks for Italy and .925 with the maker's mark of V.B.B. in a triangle pattern on the single lever style clasps. Here again I'm not sure of the age and I'll have to see if I can ID the mark. -Mike-
I recall this style in the early 80s Mike - I remember a flood of Italian jewelery and particularly bi and tri coloured chains.
I was thinking the same thing Karen :).... Big hair and shoulder pads ....lol
Hi Mike. I have a set that is very similar to yours with the same pattern and the same clasps (mine is silver-toned and marked 835). It belonged to my Mum and dates from the late 1970's. Hope this helps!
Thanks Betty :) That helps and confirms that this was probably from the end of the "disco"era. It just has that look to me.
Thanks Ken :)...that's the word I was looking for "Chevron" just like the old gas stations...lol.
Thank you Phil :)
Thanks for sharing your goodies Mike! Love the pattern.
Thanks pop52 :) My pleasure !
