This is a "SAVE IN TIME" bank by "Timesaver" The Milwaukee Timesaver Co. This particular one was made for the Commercial & Savings Bank of Stockton. I believe these advertising pieces were given out when opening a savings account with the bank. The face/door measures approximately 3.5" x 3.5". The box that holds the money measures 2.75" wide, 2.5" high & 2.0" deep with a slot on top with a spring stretched across where the coins or folded paper money is inserted and prohibits unauthorized persons from removing the coins/money by turning it upside down and shaking it out . A small 2-prong key lock is located on the right side.
The pocket watch is inserted in a 4-tab & top bar bracket affixed to the door. The pocket watch is a "dollar watch" made made by the New Haven Clock Co. with the elongated winding stem at the 6:00 position and the time can be set & watch wound without opening the bank and removing the watch. The dial is marked, THE NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO.U.S.A. The movement is marked, the same along with PAT. PEND.
    Thanks for looking,
    Dave

I'm loving this Dave! Never seen one of these before, really unique. Nowadays, banks don't even give you interest, yet alone something to open a savings account. At one time most businesses handed out tokens of appreciation to customers, those days are long gone!

Thanks Ken for the appreciation & comments. You are correct about todays banks. A while back I wanted to move some money from one bank and open a savings account in another one (not a small amount either!). When I asked about the interest I would receive and was told, I informed them that two other banks offered me almost twice that interest if I would open the account with them, the response was, "I would take it there then". Needless to say, I left and went elsewhere.

      Thanks Jewels for the appreciation.

Hello PatSea, I love your profile photo, I hope I can catch a fish that big tomorrow!
About your watches. I only collect pocket watches and do not do any repairs. I have to find others to do that for me.

PatSea, I'm going freshwater fishing for sturgeon. They are regulated and they have to be 46" to 66" to be a legal keeper. The last one I caught was 96" so I had to release it.

At the risk of appearing totally ignorant, where is Stockton? Often people drop names of places like we live in that neighbourhood.

The only state that I can find a financial institution named, The Commercial & Savings Bank (CSB), is in Ohio and none of their branches are listed in Stockton, Ohio.
      https://www.csb1.com/locations_main.asp
So the mystery of the origin of this coin bank continues.

Ok, I found another reference to Commercial & Savings Bank in Stockton, CA.
Two possibilities of the origin of this bank. Still searching for others.

      6. Cort Tower (Commercial & Savings Bank), C. 1915, 343 E. Main St. Built by the Commercial & Savings Bank, this is a fine example of the Beaux Arts – Renaissance Revival style in vogue early in the century. The building was heavily damaged by a fire in 1923, and following repairs was doubled in size. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

PhilDavidAlexanderMorris, according to the photo in the link below, this large skyscraper appears to be about 10 stories high.
