I always encourage collectors to use/ display antique photographs with their collectibles.
TO ME, nothing enhances a collection more than seeing an example of the original item in a period photograph.
I have seen antique images displayed with furniture, firearms, glassware, silver, advertising, etc....
Here is a recent purchase in the ceramics field. The original tintype dates from about the 1880s-- the figurine is earlier. Wouldn't this look great alongside a grouping of early figurines?

Fabulous photo! Love the clothes on the child and the ceramic
Thanks jewels-- as always, I appreciate you looking and commenting!

Yes, it definitely would! I love the photo but have to tell you, the figurine is really why I popped in on this one! Very nice.
Yes, it is a ram and a tree/ flower combination. Kind of out of proportion with the ram, but nice. I have seen some similar Staffordshire figurines, but with smaller floral pieces.

I Love it, The photo is fantastic, my father was a professional photographer and in his estate my Sister and I found 100's of tin types, along with of course 1000's of old photographs and cameras.
It is amazing growing up around all this stuff you tend to overlook the actual beauty of the period pieces, something I am now coming to love. Someday I will get all the boxes out and make up some grouping displays and share them.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for looking and commenting eric!
