Hi southcop!
Blunderbuss posted a similar one 2 years ago, my comment was:
"Hi, have one, and under a magnifier could see very tiny "pearls" in the design (as in your's in the windows).
I removed them with a needle and burned them... They melted with chemical odor!
So: not ivory, neither bone but an early kind of resin!
Anyway, it is not a new one but at least 40 years old."
I can see the very tiny "balls" in some places on your's too! So, not cinnabar either...
Another one there:

It is evident I don't stand behind turtlezman big$ value opinion! ;-)
Kyratamgo: wrote a letter to a chinese expert here is the discussion thread: Obviously, this is a Chinese Carved Cinnabar Snuff Bottle, the bottle missing its cap, the bottle has some age but not real antique. You can find a similar bottle in the fallowing as reference.

Sorry southcop, but I would certainly love having the expert's explanation fot the tiny "pearls" in the motif. They are even more obvious on the link provided...
If it were carved, why did the maker carve these "balls" in places they have nothing to do?
I recognize too it have some age, not new :-)
