This is a set of carved horn (Cow?) napkin rings from Hong Kong that I found in a $5 box lot at an auction. There are 15 of them, each 3/4" wide x 1 5/16" to 1 7/8" deep. Each is hand carved with a dragon motif.
This is why I spend all those hours outside in the cold rain under a tent, waiting for a box to come up..
These are fantastic. What time do you think?
From various sources, I've heard that these were a popular tourist export item in the 50s and 60s. these have that nice yellowing that bone gets after a few decades.
