When I first began collecting Murano glass, I bought mainly birds, fish and other animals. I later discovered figurines depicting people, and thus began my love affair with courtesan figures, blackamoors and the many agricultural pieces by Seguso, Barovier, Barbini and Salviati. This was my first of these pieces, who Gloria and I nicknamed "Candyman". The red canes and white filigrana stripes on his jacket, remind us of a candy cane. He's quite large for this style of figurine standing 14" Tall. As always, thanks for looking.
Quite the dandy RI know and more evidence of your great taste!
Super!!
Glad you call them *Figurines*, rather than just Figures.
Thank you for the kind comments Race and Rose and thank you for the love Glasslove, Aghcollect, Sklo, Surfdub and Mike.
Thank you CindB.
Gorgeous!!!....:-)
Thank you Inky and Manikin.
I Love This Figurine Rick. I'm a little jealous right now because I purchased a pair & they broke into little pieces while in transit to me. They were blue & white.
Thank you DD. I know exactly how you feel. I've had a few breakages myself, and I know it can be heartbreaking. I'm sure another pair will come along.
Thank you Nordicman32.
stunning!!!
Thank you Sean, and thanks for the love Manikin.
Your very welcome Rick55!!
Thank you Moonhill.
Thank you Ho2cultcha.
@Rick55 -- Love this piece !! I was wondering if you have ever seen the wavy edged bottom on these? See my post here, and in Pic # 2 you can see both the bases. They both have white around the edges -- but one figurine is totally circular base edge, while the other has the wavy edge on the base. Have you seen this before? Or know anything about who might have made it.

I think that one might be Fratelli Toso -- and it has a label ( not a foil label ) but just a label with some numbers or something on it. This is the label here that is on it:

Thanks Rosie. 1. No idea. 2. No idea. I've never seen a wavy edge, but I definitely like it better than the typical round ones. As far as the label... I've seen it but have no idea who it is. Sorry.
Exquisite! To be envied.
Thanks so much Deano, it's one of my favorite pieces!
