Walking in my grandfathers yard about 30 years ago,I looked down around some exposed roots of an old oak tree. There lay this dirty brown metallic 'box'.I was amazed that it turned out to be this old camera. My grandfather had no idea where it came from, and I still wonder how it got there. As best I can tell,it is a Ansco, Readyset Royal No.1 brown,1931-1932. 2¼x3¼'' rollfilm, folding camera. 'Ostrich Grain' covering.
very beautiful camera!!!
Ostrich covered versions of these cameras are uncommon. It's also great that the original brown bellows is intact.
rniederman,good to know,Thanks.
I have both the ostrich skin and the silver fox in my collection. They're pretty cool looking.
