Pilkington's Lancastrian lustre vase. This one was decorated by William Mycock in 1919. It is 7 inches high.

Vetraio50 provides a fine overview of Pilkington's lustreware so I'll provide the link to that:

      Simply FABULOUS !!!!
Is the date mark a rabbit, a Greek boat or a bird?

The vase is in transit to me so all I have is a photo of the bottom. All I can make out is an impressed "Lancastrian" and "England" and Mycock's lettered mark with 19 painted above it and what I believe is 19 below it. The auction house dated it 1906, although I don't believe that jibes with the impressed "Lancastrian." If you really want a go at it I'll post a photo of the bottom.

I'd just be interested to see it. He started work in the pottery department in 1906. He began as a tile artist in 1894.

      THANKS AP.

      I really don't know either.
There is a gap in the marls section of the Cross book. 1917 - 1927 are not listed. Maybe he used the digits and it is 1919?

1919 is my guess at the moment. If I find anything new once I inspect it, I'll let you know.

      Vetraio,
Vase delivered today--it does not disappoint. The company mark appears to match the one used 1914-23. And it appears that Mycock dated it 1919.
