I just found this trunk in a crawl space at work and fell in love with it
It has nails no screws it is made of wood and metal and a canvas like material. The top is dome shape but it's very slight, the chest is missing the actual lock. Inside the chest was paper but very little is left. no trays or hinges for the top.

Well I really like the old and rugged look to it,so no not yet maybe in the future.
It's in my living room and has so much character, that it might never be fixed up.
      Thanks for looking ????

Great find! Your trunk is a very popular style made by many American trunk makers from the 1880's to 1920's. Based on the hardware styles it is most likely from around 1900 to 1910 give or take a few years. Most companies called these "dress trunks" but they were used my men and women. These were covered with "duck canvas" which was often painted in a variety of colors, usually brown, olive green, etc. Enjoy your trunk! Marvin ThisOldTrunk.com

      Thanks Marvin
I really did not know a thing about the trunk, just that I like how it looks.
But with the information you shared I love it even more.
