Need help ID'ing this tool. Thanks.

The head is about 9" long. Has a hatchet and hammer. It has some printing on it but I can't make it out. Looks like a RR line.

If I can hazard a guess, you have an old style cross pean hammer used for fixing parts on a steam locomotive.

I think it started live as a coopers adze/hammer looks like the "adze part" has been turned 90°. The hammer is made like most coopers adzes ,just google it and you'll see what I mean.

I thought it might be an adze type tool with the bit modified too. It's 22 1/4" long with the hammer/bit at 9 1/4" and weighs nearly 4lbs. It's still a mystery to me. I've had a lot of adzes, mortising, and timber frame axes/hatchets. Also thought it might be a barrel makers tool?

Nonk got it correct. It was a modified adze. Thanks everyone.
