Was from estate sale.... Large wool blanket with small tied knots at strands at ends of weaving. Some parts have small moth holes. Is for sale at antique store but they can't price it as they can't find out what it is . Not sure if it's American Indian? From Turkey? Other? Would appreciate any info that can be provided. Thanks!
American Indians did not make Blankets so that is a start to solve it .
looks like strips were added to a wool blanket , gray does not look like it was made on old loom ?
Now I could be wrong so hopefully someone can help more , The weaving just doesn't look right to me ?
Stripes and pattern are part of the weaving design... Not added
When I blow up photo I do not see weave and almost looks liked dyed as the W pattern does not seem to match exact as you go cross as it would if made on a loom . Hard to tell by photo. What does back look like ? and edges ? That would help .
