THIS IS MY FAVORITE MURANO VASE. IT IS MADE OF RED SOMMERSO GLASS WITH A BATTUTO FINISH. THE BATTUTO EXTERIOR -WITH ITS MANY FACETS- IS ACHEIVED BY COLD WORKING THE VASE ON A LATHE USING A STONE WHEEL. WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT THIS TECHNIQUE, IS HOW IT GIVES THE INTERIOR (RED) A DEFUSED, HAZY APPEARANCE. IT'S A NICE SIZE MEASURING 10" TALL AND IS A VERY HEAVY 16 LBS. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

I have not seen battuto with flats that big before. Usually the glass is busy with it but as you say this battuto really helps the beauty. Great thing!
Thank you for the kind comment Race and thank you for the love Aghcollect. I agree, all the ones I've seen (mostly by Barbini) have very small bites taken out the glass. I would love one, but when they come on the market, they're outrageously expensive.

A favor please :).... Could you take a look at this for me. I'd like your opinion on this vase I posted a while back. It's gorgeous but of course I'm partial to anything red.
