I'm trying to find out about my plate but don't know where to start ?
This was a gift to me in the 1978 in England and I brought it back to Australia. I have had it in the original hanger on my wall for 35 years and enjoy its intricate beauty.
Archer hunter shoots a bird. He has an attendant.
Heavy pottery weight: 1.318gm. Beautiful fine painted features & decorated with raised glazes and gold. There is no artist or manufacturer stamp on the reverse other than the three decorated areas also raised glazes with gold. There are slight marks on the reverse from a metal plate hanger.

It is beautiful! Because there are no marks, you probably need expert help. There’s a website called satumaspottery.com, which gives free advice, and you can post photos and get help. They also have a Facebook page. They were very helpful, but as they get so many questions, it takes a wee while, but it’s free!!!

PS. You know the folk at Antiques Roadshow would scold you if you’re using a wire hanger!

Maryh1956, is that the correct addy? I would have thought satsuma.

Oh, I am enjoying this site. Such helpful people.
Thank you to surfdub66 and maryh1956 for taking a peak and loving my plate. I so appreciate your comments and advice maryh1956. I am duly scolded in my ignorance and will sort out the wire hanger. Hanger suggestions will be appreciated although please take into account the plate resides in a warm and seasonably (three months) wet tropical climate ie today is 91% humidity, phew!
My sister is chasing up some leads but I will have a go with your suggestions.

I don’t understand you question katherinescollections?!

Birdwing, antique experts say that you should not use those wire hangers that attache to the plate for hanging on the wall, as it can damage the glaze around the rim. A free standing plate stand on a shelf or a plate rack are better for your precious pieces!

You wrote satumaspottery, did you mean to write satsumapottery? :)

Oh, and I used wire hangers for my plates as well. Live and learn. :)

Good ideas for display. I do have to hang my plate so if anyone has a better alternative I would find this helpful with consideration to my high humidity environment (see comment 7.)
