This gooseneck vase is one of Carlos's favourites. I remember seeing him very excited the day it arrived! Not our first Rubin Matt Iris vase, but yes the only one with enamel decoration (this one is painted in enamel and gold relief with Dek. 4/714).
Carlos has been asking me to share it at CW for a long time already, but I've been reluctant to do so because I think I never took good enough pictures of it: it's proved to be a hard one to take pics of. But even so I'm sharing it today... one day I hope I'll take decent pics of this great vase. On pic.4 you can see three we just took in our terrace...
The very shape was repeated in 1900 (under “Series II, prod. No. 599”) with other decors.
Addenda Febr. 19th.:
When writing this post I insisted Carlos that we had, at a book, the picture of this vase in an exhibition display... he's just come to me with it, so I guess I'll have to add it.
The picture shows the display of Lötz vases presented at the 1899 Summer exhibition for the Bayerischen Kunstgewerbevereins in Munich. Our vase model appears on the picture, although in a different decoration (that you can see on pic.2)
