    Hi
    Everyone.
I want to share something very personnal, this WW1 Cannon was made by my father in the 30, my Father very handy as you can see, as i say before he use to work at the Royal bank Of canada in Quebec City, but also so work as an Electro technician, repairing radio and TV on is spare time, so he discover recycling very early, so accept for the wheel and canon tube (Bullitt) everything else was handmade, very handy person, the canon launcher was a real bullitt and the wheel coming from the window shutter at the bank, there was inside the windows jam.Cutting, eating, hammerring, screewing, this was a piece of Art, and everytime i look at this canon i see him working on.
He made this with is own hand and this was priceless to me.
10 years before he died(1988)RIP, he was the inventer with a co worker of the laser, created at the Valcartier Military Base

      Great family piece!

It looks like a 1944 dated 50 cal. round was used for the barrel. Do you know when he made it? He looks to have had some real skill with metal work.

I am a trench art collector-- hundreds of pieces but nothing from my family.

Many thanks Scottvez for the kind comment.

Yes, i being not sure about the date he made this,i know the Cannon style date from first WWI, but i will think he made this, before he married Mom, but now with the 50 cal dated(thank you)1944, make sense he made after.
Alway's see this cannon sit on top of the labrairie book case, since i am born (1959).

Yes very claver and talented man with his hand, builds 3 house in his life time, being also furniture maker, electro technician, and very important good father(raise 9 kids+1 adopted)Busy man i would say.

I will sure say now he made this between 1945-1964(the years we move from downtown Quebec to a sub-division)

Again Scott thanks for the info and the comment

      Regards
      Alan

When we see things that we like, we should thank them for sharing. I'm still trying to figure out why we thank clerks etc. for taking our money? LOL
