And today I want to share a third Art Deco pottery item, and this think I do believe it to have been made in Valencia and be anonymous... but who knows!
Just like the other vase I posted yestarday ( http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/149507-art-dco-pottery-vase-ca-1930?in=user ), I find this one a remarkable piece.
I first adore the colour combination (black and purple -once again the use of black, so uncommon in the traditional ceramics of the area-, blue and white, both creating different colour areas interacting amongst them. It certainly is a... vibrating combination), and then there's the graphics they create, mixing the flowers and the geometric patterns -that can remind us of classic, much older designs from the Moorish culture that ruled over Valencia in Mediaeval times, when it was a kingdom on its own- in a way that is thoroughly modern. And finally I also love the way this decor and the shape combine together. In spite of its chubbyness the piece becomes so elegant!
Now that is FABULOUS !!!!
Agreed - a FANTASTIC piece!
Thanks for your love KEV, KAREN, JENSEN and MIKE!!!

ARTISLOVE, please don't make me talk about Calatrava... I could only say bad things about his work, and CW isn't the place to do so ;)
Cool, tribal looking ;-)
thanks for loving it KIVATINITZ and SURFDUB!
the most geometrical, abstract designs are a modern reinterpration of Moorish motifs that appear in traditional Valencian pottery, and so do the flowers. Whoever made this one had a good knowledge of traditional pottery.
thanks for your love VLADIMIR!
HO2CULTCHA and IVONNE: thanks for loving!!!!
ELISABETHAN, GTMOOM & NORDICMAN, thanks for your love!!!!
