From my OLD, old pic files here.......so sorry for the Bad pics...

Got this like 5 years ago and it was a mystery. Just tonight I found the ID of it, as I found one with a SASAKI label on it. Even when I bought this I found it had quite striking colors, shape and quality. I had thought Chinese Glass by the bottom but never had a found another with any proof. Now tonight I did -- Not Chinese, but older Japanese Art Glass.

Here is a Link to another (with an under-plate) and the vase HAS a label:

      Well congratulations!
Thanks for the post for me!!!!

Now the small print - it's likely been made in China for Sasaki. Your feeling was correct.
      Oh no! How...why?
By the turn of the century Sasaki worked out that they couldn't compete in the export market at Japanese labour prices. So after in house design they outsource a lot of their production now.
I've seen recent Sasaki from China, Portugal and Hungary (or was it Poland?).
All the usual places for cheaper but good glass.

To me though it still somehow has a very Japanese feel - particularly the plate in your link. It was designed there after all.

Thanks again. Hope you don't mind but I put it in my Japanese collection.

Hope you are going OK. We are hearing heaps about the terrible weather in Canada and the States.

Romania - that's where I was thinking! Sorry not Poland.
I noticed the ad mentioned Lithuania too.

Of course it's awesome......I just remembered I found and posted this vase a while ago. Seems to have a similar feel. I figured Chinese decorator item. I guess I was right as Karen said. :)
