Over many years I've purchased and refinished full size and medium size trunks. Recently, due to space limitations I've turned my attention to hunting down doll trunks. These are harder to find but you can collect more of them, if nothing else you can hide them inside the bigger ones. I've found these at yard sales, Brimfield Antique Show that takes place three times a year in Massachusetts and e-bay. Some have the original interiors, the metal covered one in the first picture has the original interior which is rare. As you know most trunks, big or small the insides were destroyed and thrown away years ago. A few of these are still works in progress, they need trays, trim painted or straps. When I get bored I jump from one project to the next so three of these need finishing touches. I have a few more that are in rough shape that I need to get working on. I will post pictures when I get those done. One has a metal covering with the a pressed floral design, I'm going to attempt to do the two color paint on that one, I've never tried that before. I found a trunk restoration site that gives how to instructions so plan on giving it a try.
