Perhaps the weirdest place on Route 66 and one of the more isolated spots as the road there is a bit rough.
I had scoffed when I read that the road here was a bit difficult but driving it is believing. Speed limit of 15 mph and that is reasonable for that part of the road. That is stretch of Route 66 that runs from north of Oatman to Kingman. The road from south of Oatman to the California border is easy peasy. Unless it is closed from flooding as it was when I first was going to go there. Luckily it had dried out for my trip back.
As you can see it is western style buildings in rough condition.
The wild burros are the most famed feature of Oatman. They are wild but you can feed them by hand. They seems friendly to me but they are there on their own terms.
