I picked this lamp up in a small antique/thrift shop in Maine this past summer. Although the pictures don't really showcase it, the interior of these two pieces is cased in white. The lamp assembled is 9.75" tall, the chimney opening is 2" across, and the base is 3" across. The internal white casing does not appear to be terribly thick and there are no mold marks. It is unmarked and unsigned, and there is no sticker on it. The thickness of the glass is 1/8".

I've been trying to identify the maker: anyone have any information to share? I've looked at Holmegaard, Alterfors, & Bergdala items...

    Most appreciated!

      Beautiful pieces of glass.

The other possibility to consider is Japanese glass. They were also making these fine, cased, hooped styles. I think it's possibly going to be pretty difficult to ID it.

Maybe consider asking a glass group on Facebook , eg. Scandinavian Glass:

Groups are generally knowledgeable and happy to help out!

I have another possibility for you to explore - it could be Empoli cased glass - from Italy. Beautiful colourful and bold shaped pieces were extensively exported to the USA from the late 1940's. There's a chap, Damon Crain who runs the Glasshouse web site who's very knowledgeable and will do identification work - for a fee: http://www.vmglasshouse.com/about-glasshouse.htm, or there is also The End of History Shop based in Manhattan who also do identification - I guess there will also be a fee involved there too. http://theendofhistoryshop.blogspot.co.uk/

Good luck with identifying your lovely find.

Whoops.... just re-visited Glasshouse web site - Damian Crain isn't doing identification work for 'Non-customers' at this time. Many apologies, I should have checked his web site first!
