This folding table has been around our farm for 10-15 years now, quiet a few people have thought about buying it, but never did...I'M REALLY GLAD THEY DIDN'T!!!!!
In my boredom this winter,I decided to investigate the name on the bottom M.H.Simons.
Turns out Maude H. Simons and her brother Herb owned one of the early funeral home,it was located in the lower floor of a hotel They owned it from 1910-1912.I got the table out of a building across the street and down a few doors that also was a funeral home in the 30's -.I also found ad's for a furniture/undertaker business in 1904 as Howard and Simons So I have added a pic of Maude Simons and L.L. Howard (husband maybe)(he was married twice per. obit in 1931)
I am proud to have this in my collection,if anyone can tell me more about the construction ,I would appreciate it!
