Harrach Topaz Crackle Bowl with Nasturtiums

I have had this vase for a while, and was finally able to to take some decent pictures of it this weekend. It was made by Harrach, who often did enamel work of plants (especially seaweeds, grasses and ferns) on crackle glass. In this case, the crackle glass is a pretty pale topaz color, and the subject matter a bit different for them - a garden flower.

When people think of Nasturtiums, they typically think of a bright orange flower, but in 1884, seed catalogs listed 23+ different varieties, including a near-white. (You can now buy seeds similar to this variety at certain heirloom seed companies, by the name of 'Milkmaid'.) The enameling is very well done, and even includes a small butterfly on the right side of the flowers, and a vignette of a grass on the back of the vase. It is quite large, measuring 7-1/2" in diameter.
