CONSTANCE SPRY
Florist, Author + Social Reformer (1886-1960)
One of my favourite vases - ever ....... is this one by Connie!
"Few people have had such a powerful influence over the way we decorate our homes as Constance Spry. First as a teacher and social reformer, then as a society florist and best-selling author, Spry (1886-1960) taught mid-20th century Britons how to beautify their homes with such unassuming materials as berries, vegetable leaves, twigs, ferns and weeds displayed in a motley assortment of containers from gravy boats and bird cages, to tureen lids and baking trays."

And then she designed vases in glass for Royal Brierley - Stevens & Williams and in ceramic later for Wedgwood.
"Just as Keith Murray was employed as a consultant by Brierley to produce designs in the 1930’s, so later was the flower arranger and writer Constance Spry. Unlike Murray’s work, which explored and harnessed the qualities of the medium, pieces by Spry were necessarily practical because of her background as a flower arranger. Whereas Murray experimented with shape and technique, Spry ensured that her designs were solid in nature, using traditional forms, such as footed urns, with, or without handles. To date all the pieces seen have a ripple-moulded finish to the body of the item and most are clear. Like Murray she achieved the accolade of having a facsimile signature to the base of her designs. She also designed vases and bowls for Wedgwood, just as Murray did."

Pleasure I'm flying through Emails I've been looking for some old photos of things I use to own before the move sometimes they show then they seem to go missing beats me I wish I could find them there's over 400 of them I would show some things then delete so not taking up space frustrating

Thanks Kev I will try but it's something I don't think will happen it's taking turns were turns aren't suppose to be all the specialist that I have been through for my stomach are now more worried about the heart & as for getting weight on it's as if they have given up there as the latest one said get me well then think about the weight. The diet the dietician had me on the specialist said would of killed me his words. Who do you trust anymore. All I know is it's costing me a fortune doing everything I'm told to do I think they think money grows on trees. This week alone without cost of doctors has been over $700.
COMPLIANCE is the important word ...... Stick with it !!!!!!
