This dog is one of my first childhood memories... but it's not mine, it's Carlos's!
When Carlos brought home some of his childhood toys that had been untill then at his mother's, my jaw just dropped at the sight of this plastic dog, because I used to have one just like it when I was a little kid. I don't recall getting it. I guess it was my elder brother's and I made it my own once he (5 years older than I) had discarded it...
Carlos tells me this was part of a plastic circus and that ringed a bell on me, but everything I can remember about it is the dog. But I do remember taking it with me everywhere (and it probably got lost as I left it somewhere and totally forgot about it).
In any case it really is funny we both not only had this little unimportant toy, but we both cherised it so much!
Looking at it from the distance (40 or more years later) I really think it is perfectly designed: it just cannot be simpler and better! any kid nowadays would certainly enjoy with it as much as we did as little kids.
stunning!!!
Qué dulces recuerdos austro al igual que que esta ternurita de juguete, me fascina!
"Simple things are the best"!!
Amorosa coincidencia!
Thanks evrybody for loving this little toy: AGH, VIOLET, CORMORAN, PATSEA, MIKE, KEV, SEAN, VIRGINIA, AZTOM!!
I'm lucky I still can handle it :) I have no toys from my childhood apart from a couple of plastic or wood figurines. The ones I've got I bought being a grown up just to remember those I had :)
What fun!
Love it! Reminds me of my two Fox terrier pets that I loves!
FLEDERMAUS, DrFLUFFY, VINTAGELAMP & NRDICMAN, thanks fot your love!!!!!
I know this is quite a silly thing to be shared here at CW, so I extra appreciate your loves and comments!
It seems almost that owning and appreciating such a well designed/stylised dog was an early indication of how your tastes in furnishing a home would develop later.....for both of you that is. An astonishing story and a wonderful, wonderful dog!
I think it is ART !!
SKLO, BUDEK, MANI & ROSE, thanks for loving this little toy!!!!
@SKLO, or maybe it was appreciating it what made us pay more attention to design as we grew up... (On his 16th birthday Carlos asked his parents for the TATU lamp as a present... that's quite a sign! http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/68431-tatu-lamp-andr-ricard-metalarte-197 )
But yes, it's so funny we both did as kids!
