A smaller vase from the Swedish glass company Flygsfors. This vase was designed by Wiktor Berndt, who worked at Flygsfors from 1955-74 and became their chief designer in 1956.
An abstract design showing two floating masses of deep blue and ruby around a punctured off-set hole to one side.
Signed on base Berndt and Flygsfors 58.
Flygsfors closed down in 1979
The vase is just 14 cm or 5.5" tall.
"In 1955, Wiktor Berndt joined Flygsfors to design light fixtures and art glass, and he would become Flygsfors second most well known designer. Before he came to Flygsfors, he studied at Kallstroms and then in Murano, Italy. In 1956, when Paul Kedelv left the company, Wiktor became the chief designer, and he continued as the chief designer until he left in 1974. Beginning in the early 1960s Wiktor began designing his most popular range of art glass, which consisted of mold-blown colored glass with modernistic surface reliefs that generally represented animals, people, or scenes."
