old Quebec chest

This is a standard sized wooden chest that we fell in love with and bought from a reputable shop to use at the end of our bed for storage. The seller had the date of "1860" and "Quebecoise Canadian" on the description. It was exactly the look we wanted and find the restrained paneled sides really handsome. To my inexperienced eye it appears authentic and certainly not a reproduction. The two lighter colored bands under the lid that appear in the photo were a minor concern that I still wonder about. We love it everyday and you should see the patina in the daylight. Hope you enjoy.
