I found this today at Urban Ore. it's pretty large and i believe that it's very old. not in perfect condition, but an interesting piece. can anyone tell me about it? it's about 9 inches tall x 9.5" wide at the widest point. i believe that the finial is a foo dog.
can anyone tell me anything about this piece? i'm curious about it.
To me the scrolling pattern of the vines is more reminiscent of Japanese 'tako karakusa'. Google images for that term.
thank you noob. it does look a lot like 'tako karakusa'. i wasn't familiar w/ that pottery before. thanks again for your comment.
it's a typical Chinese provincial urn. Rare to find in this size and condition, excellent finding. Adore. Probably from mid 19c, not cheap friend, not cheap. It's designed for congee.
thank you shrine! i don't think i've been caring for it appropriately.
don,t trust this but who am i
