Once we bought the Standard sign with the Porcelain Flame holder we began an intense search for a flame to put in the cauldron! Wow was that s lot of empty searching. We called everyone we know and then called a list of people we don't know. We searched on every medium we could find and searched for months. We did actually find a
Few people who had flames but none were willing to let them go. We saw one or two going on Ebay but the prices were horrific for a simple glass flame and they weren't in mint condition considering the high prices. We looked and looked and looked. Finally we met with a collector we had never actually seen before but had talked to on the phone. Turns out that he had one of the Flames we were looking for along with a bunch of other cool stuff we luv. We finally worked out our deal and left with the flame and a couple of small things to go back to Utah to get our trailer and return another day to get the gas pumps we had also purchased. That was one of those stellar days of Hunting and making a deal. It is soooo much fun after one has searched so hard for a long time to finally actually find and put a deal together. This was one of those days! Keep on Hunting!
Take a pic with it in the sign:)
A satisfying hunt!
U will love this answer! We worked so hard to find this silly glass flame and had to pay so much for it that we are afraid to actually display it on the sign for fear that some kid with his trusty Red Rider BBB gun will be riding down the street where the sign is posted and take target practice to see how many hits it will take to shatter the glass! (Yes! I was one of those kids) it therefore sits on my mantel waiting for me to decide what to do with it. Actually we have a second one sitting in a box waiting for us to decide what to do with that as well. Remember that the fun was on the hunt! Now we have them the hunt is over and we're chicken to display them!!! That is nuts!!! But true!
We bought the second flame from the collection of lake friend who died last year and only bought it because they are near impossible to find. We have no idea what to do with them as we will likely put fake ones on the poles for fear of the neighborhood "shooters" passing by. We have never had anything vandalized as of yet but having been a little demon myself I fear that another might exist in the area?
You are right, I would probably be on pins and needles knowing they were out there waiting to be destroyed. Better put a fake one up just to be safe:)
Nicefice
