Bought this vase recently ~ beautiful design! no markings that I can find on the bottom. There are markings near the lip of the vase ... But I don't know where to begin trying to understand the age / region, etc of this piece. It measures 13" x 10.5" and the detail is wonderful. I could look at it for hours .... if anyone might have any information about this I'd be grateful.

It says at the lip of the vase 'Da Ming Tianqi Nian Zhi'. If that were to be believed, then the vase would date from the reign of the Ming dynasty Tianqi emperor (1621-1627). ;)

Thanks Noob ~ ???? so most likely a reproduction .... Looks quite old. Any suggestions on how I might determine true age and value?

The body of a genuine antique moon flask would be round. I don't know if it's just the angle of your picture, but its circular shape looks a bit flattened. Also, the handles are too simplistic.

It's likely to be 20th century, and its value would be what you paid for it.

Thx for the insight :-) Paid $50 ~ I'm happy with that.

I believe it's a 20th repo, but a good repo, especially at $50. with $500 and a bit of luck, you could buy a moon vase from 19th.
