This sign is 5" in diameter and 1/4" thick. Adout 3lbs or so. Not sure how old it is. Looks like it had a blacked out background at one point still some remnants in the actual ge. Says 3706b on the back. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hey, I have one of these. They are made of brass. The nickle plate on mine was poor so I buffed it all off and clear lacquered it.
I have had mine for about 40 years. My only guess was it went beside the front door of the GE all electric houses built in the 50's.
these are General Electric plaque's that were attached to early G.E. generator sets made in Schenectady N.Y . The type you have was probably affixed to smaller engine driven generator.The bigger more expensive hydro generators you find in early powerhouses had larger brass and copper types that were in 10" in diameter and are nicely made. They took a lot of pride in their work!
