I bought this lovely radio from a boot fare in Kent last wek for just £8 . I cleaned it up both inside and outside and it is in an excellent condition and fully working with a lovelly sound. A great buy. And it has a bakelite casing.
Hi i was wondering if you know how much they are worth as i have one in good excellent condition and works perfectly
The radio is worth around £50-£60 I sold it recently for £50 ( cash) Hope that helps. Smaller bakelite radios sell for much more. Recently I had a 1957 Philips valve radio in absolutely mint condition and still in its original box. It was snapped up at £90.
Thanks for that i was offered 85.oo last thursday should i sell it or chance it on ebay
Hi £85 is a good price, I would take that. Ebay is fine for buying vintage radios at cheap prices but not really for selling. Recently I have bought several vintage radios ranging in manufactured dates from 1930's to the 1950's and most cost no more than £10 on eaby. Plus I have bought 6 portable vintage valve radios in nice picnic style cases and these I got for between £5 and £11 each. Some vintage radio achieve good prices on ebay , but the vast majhority dont. Best sell privately through local free paper adverts, and free websites like prevloved.co.uk etc. And various collector sites. I hope this helps. £85 for yours is a good price..
The four most recent radios I bought I will put pictures on this website of. As I have renovated them and the cabinets now look really nice . I sanded them all down and applied dark linseed oil into the wood cabinets finishing with several coats of beeswax polish. Now they look really nice with the wood grain highlighted.
