We are wondering if anyone out there can tell us a little about this Platter. Family story goes it was given to my husbands Grt Grandparents as a wedding gift in the Mid 1800's. We thought it may be an Imari but have no idea. We would like to know if someone could verify it for us or at least tell us if it is Japanese or Chinese and if the Era we have been told is correct. It is in perfect condition as it has apparently sat wrapped in brown paper in a box for all these years. Sorry but that is all the history I know about the Platter but would love to hear from anyone that could fill us in.

I would've thought its asian , the blue ring around the base is common on orienfal pottery/porcelains, looks like an imari pattern & colour..
try google , Gothenbergs chinese/japanese marks, im sure youll find the mark there ;-) good luck

Also some English potteries copied these imari designs so maybe a look closer to home may be worth a try if you cant find the mark ;-)
