    Collectoma…
    (68 items)

The roadrunner? was purchased at the swap today for $10, it had provenance to 2005 when it was purchased from a 80 y.o lady at flea market. The red dish is labeled Bombay, Made in Poland and was $5.
The perfume bottle was $10 and has a scratch free ground pontil. The little orange vase was 4, and has a tiny engraving MIT, then a star, then a tiny fish, then 2001. The little blue bird for $1 is engraved Leoward 1993. The fish was $5 and looks Murano to me. He's a hefty lil guy with a nice base. The green dish was $5. The green vase was $5 and is embossed Fenton. The other small pieces were about 50cents each.
Think I did quite good for $43 Total.
Thanks for looking, and please tell me what you think and ad some info
to the finds if you'd like to.

Looks like a pretty good haul. Nothing like a good shopping spree.

Yes, not bad. As a newcomer to collecting glass I quickly realized I needed a criteria list to shop by. It has to be 99% in perfect shape, it has to have something going for it to indicate it's not made in China. It has to be inexpensive, and if it isn't, I have some bargaining skills to go with. Last but not least, it has to be gorgeous. At least in my eyes. I generally view 75-100 items to find one I like, and matches my criteria for buying. Safe to say I layed eyes on 400 plus items this wknd. to find these. Keeps me out of the casinos, and that's all that matters lol.

Great findings!Love them, but I also love the view from the window!

Thanks Ivonne. That's my nice art glass with British Columbia's Fraser river as a backdrop and the U.S of A only 10 miles away on the horizon. I just will wish for a better camera one day that can take it all in and some better photography skills.
I think art glass can blend with nature nicely.

Some great pieces Collecto! And only 43 dollars?? You made a steal!
    6. Collectomaniac Collectomaniac, 10 years ago
Thanks Rick. I think this glass buying thing is a steal. There's not many things you can easily buy one day, and potentially sell the for an easy 100% ++ profit the next. Everything I buy seems to be covered in dirt, and very much not wanted and ignored, and sold cheap. Works of art kicked to the curbside. Likely enjoyed by an older generation perhaps. I really enjoy the clean-up phase when everything shines once again like it was meant to be, and the sudden beauty and value arrives.

Awesome finds and great display. I can't go to an auction because....I would be homeless with lots of heavy glass. )
We have to be related. LOL

I just purchased 3 pieces of Leo Ward. Two bluebirds and one cardinal. They are signed and dated '92' 93' and 97' and 2 have the stickers. They are very pretty. The seller only charged about five dollars each but there may be more to them that I don't know about. I agree that if you like it right now that's all that matters.

Hey OneGoodFind. Those little Leo Wards are ok. I was just viewing some and see these little birds of happiness come in a wide range of colours. Is the cardinal the one dated '97? I like the fact they're dated. Your off to a good start with the 3 you have.
    10. Collectomaniac Collectomaniac, 9 years ago
      The fish is Chinese.
    11. OneGoodFind OneGoodFind, 9 years ago
Yes collect the cardinal is. How did you know that?
    12. Collectomaniac Collectomaniac, 9 years ago
I figured by '97, they had to start selling something other than bluebirds out of their gift shop.

I hadn't seen or heard of them before but was watching an auction ending. They are so beautiful. I love them!!

Well :) Those little blue birds of happiness are doing their job now aren't they.
Good to hear from you OneGoodFind.

Hey, have you learned any more about the roadrunner? I think I need one of those.
