This was a wonderful treat that I acquired from a friend. We both do not know the exact origin of this piece. We would like to know. Any thoughts. All are welcome. Thanks for looking

Those metal mounts look Scandinavian to my eye : Skønvirke. I've seen a few vases like these recently. Bohemian glass workers went to Denmark as early as 1845 and took with them techniques that influenced glass at Holmegaard, Aarhus and Fyens Glasværk in Odense.

Kevin, many thanks for that information. It's an unusual piece and I think it's out of the box with the pewter mounting.

The metalwork looks so similar to the Skønvirke jewellery that we see here on CW.
