This was my Step-dads. I do not know much about it as it seems to be a Toy, a whistle, carved ( by Hand?? ) and the people move around when you blow it. It is pretty small as see it by a quarter.

Anyone know more about this? Age ( I assume 1950's since it says East)? What is it called? Hand-made?

There is a region in saxonia called erzgebirge where all these wooden carved pieces has been made... i don't know how to find out when it has been produced but there should be specialists who know.
several workshops produced handcarved pieces like wendt&kuehn, hubrig, flade, volkmar wade and several other... you might find it.
