    Did a little shpping yesterday, one item I got is this nice leather trunk, has embossed American eagle type shield on front and top. Missing leather handle on top. Has one spot about 2 inches wide by 1 inch long where the leather is worn off. Can a leathersmith repair that? Or just leave as is? Trunk is about 16x14x14. Been told it was a pre-civil war officers parade hat trunk
    Will post other pictures when i get batteries for my camera.
    Any body have any info?

      inside was covered in sometype of cartoon wall paper, i've removed most of it
      and will recover in linen. found a reall nice heavy duty handle for it, but having trouble locating the brass tacks/rivets that match. also, would like to replace a section of 1/2" metal banding about 6 inches long that has broken off, but i can only find it in 100lb rolls, so its slow going with this one
