I was expecting the well known Welz decor, Lines and Spots, in its pink and green manifestation, BUT when I lifted the bubble wrapped bowl from the outer packing it seemed to have a golden sheen all over! I've noticed that bubble wrap will always emphasise iridescence. I was surprised but delighted.....the seller hadn't mentioned iridescence.
Also I didn't know that 'Lines and Spots' could come with the Welz 'Golden Craquelure Effect' though I have another Welz vase with this effect on top of the 'standard' decor. This iridescent effect is full of tiny scratches at right angles to each other.
Picture 4.....on the left a vase with the same golden craquelure effect.
on the right a pink 'Vertical Lines' vase with no added effect.
Is there a correct term for this sort of 'craquelure' effect?

beautiful!!!
Thank you SEAN.....as ever the iridescence is hard to capture....
Pink and green...LOVE this combination!
Lovely, Peggy.
Me too, Ivonne, but when it comes to Lines and Spots in the UK I'm happy if I can find any colour at all!
Thank you so much, Ian :-)
Lines and spots= beauty (except on my face).
A gorgeous surprise Peggy!
Peggy, what a beauty!!
Hi Karen, it was a fine surprise because I suspect that the examples with the added sheen are quite rare.
Thank you Michelle, you may be able to comment on whether this added sheen is uncommon or not.

Thank you kivatinetz and antiquerose for your comments......pleased you like it :-)
Hi scott, and thank you for a lovely comment.
A beauty Peggy!
Peggy, I do think the iridescence on your vase is quite a bit less common. And Welz pieces with iridescence have a really lovely golden sheen; you have quite a beauty there! :)
Very very!!..nice, love the pink and the green together!!..:-)
Rick, thank you so much :-)
Hi Peggy, beautiful. I saw this and was going to have a bid, I'm so glad I didn't bid against you, maybe we should coordinate, lol. It's lovely, and a bargain, I thought ;)
It looks fabulous with the others. Well done :)
Thank you, Michelle, for getting back to me on rarity. It's something I find difficult to get a handle on as the later Welz is much less common here than the victorian kind.....to my disappointment! :-)
Me too, inky! There's something particularly fetching about pink and green! :-)
Hi Fran, and thanks :-). Ian and I have talked about 'fishing in the same pond'! Conclusion.....it can't be helped.....so no point bothering. Only when they get posted here do we know where some end up! Some time ago you yourself posted a vase I had particularly wanted :-)
