    Found this interesting large industrial scene watercolor at Volunteer's of America this morning. It shows ore cars being unloaded at a steel plant. Not sure of the technical term for this area but I'm sure there is one. I did open it up looking for a signature but no luck. Thought it might have been hidden by the matte. The painting is done on heavy watercolor paper. It's very nicely framed matted and has non-glare glass. It probably came from a Pittsburgh steel plant office since it was framed in the Pittsburgh area. The frame shop's label has an old style phone number "Atlantic" 1-3294 so that dates it to the 50's to early 60's before the prefix phone number system we use now. The painting has a draftsman type precision and is very well done. It was more than likely painted by the architectural firm that designed the plant. -Mike-

      Oh yes Ken I remember. We have Republic Steel here in Lorain . Nothing like it used to be years ago though. I think they're part of LTV now. My friend worked security at Republic for a few years.
