This Ganesha Statue is what I bought back from Sri Lanka.
He's really cute, I'm not sure of his age, but he is certainly vintage, he could be older. He's made of solid Brass, and a hefty piece. I think it is either a sand mould casting, or a lost wax moulding, there are absolutely no signs of a split mould casting. As you can see there is a lot of fine detailing on the statue.
Lord Ganesha is one of the best known and most worshipped deities of Hindu Religion, also the Jains and Buddhist are devotees of Ganesha.
He is easy to identify because of his Elephant head.
Many thanks for looking
Love Ganesha, but I tend to be rather on Hanuman facetious side, lol :-)
Hi Kyra, thanks for your comment, you have so many to choose from. I think I favour Ganesha because my Indian friend use to collect Statues of him, so I know him better than the others. When I was in India, one Febuary there were festivals in honour of Ganesha, I think he's cute.
Oh my manager would love this!
I will have to show her.
From India and she worships Ganesha.
Hi melanije, I'll be very interested to see what your manager says. Many thanks for your comment and love.
Many thanks

Hi surfdub, I just presumed it is Brass, but it could be bronze. I wonder if any CW people could help me on this.
