This is proving to be among the most difficult vases to describe. When not lit for photos, the ground appears as an orange/red color...more mandarian orange when held up to the light looking down through the throat. The bands that appear light blue here appear steel blue. The minute you turn a light onto the vase, this is what you see. This is one of the most chameleon-like pieces I think I have ever photographed. It changes color as you carry it around the house. I will add some daylight photos when I can.
The characteristic "zipper pattern" is clearly visible from the bottom photos. The tortured shape has exaggerated the pattern along the sides of the vase. The slightest angle change brings about shades of pink and purple and gold. The vase is 4 3/4" tall (12cm)
